Each rail is rated for a normal household load — a full machine wash spread across the rails. The fixing into the slab is what carries it, which is why we do not mount into false ceilings or lightweight panels.

Will drilling into the ceiling be a problem in my apartment?

The problem it solves

In most Chennai 2 and 3 BHK flats, the utility balcony is barely wide enough for the washing machine and a standing person. A floor-standing drying stand takes what is left, blocks the path to the tap and has to be folded away every time.

A ceiling hanger moves the whole drying load overhead. The rails come down on a pulley to loading height, go back up once loaded, and the floor stays clear.
