Bird netting is a structural job, not just a mesh

Where a balcony pigeon net spans a few metres between two walls, building bird netting often runs across an opening with no convenient edge to fix to. A stilt parking bay, an atrium void or a plant room louvre needs a support cable line first, with the mesh carried on it.

That is why we survey before quoting on anything larger than a balcony. The mesh cost is rarely the deciding factor; the fixing plan is.

Openings we net

Different structures attract different birds, and each needs its own approach.

Service ducts and shafts

Vertical shafts where birds roost between floors and drop debris into the base.

Stilt and basement parking

Open perimeter bays where birds nest on beams above parked vehicles.

Atriums and lobbies

Large voids where a bird trapped inside becomes a recurring maintenance call.

Louvres and plant rooms

Equipment areas where nesting material blocks airflow and creates a fire risk.

Warehouse and factory openings

Wide roller-shutter and clerestory openings needing cable-supported spans.

Solar panel undersides

The gap under rooftop panels, a common nesting cavity on Hyderabad terraces.

How the specification is decided

Species present
Mesh aperture is set so the smallest target bird cannot pass
Opening size
Spans beyond a few metres get an intermediate support cable
Sun exposure
Fully exposed elevations get UV-stabilised mesh
Access requirement
Where maintenance staff need entry, we build in a zipped or velcro access panel
Appearance
Mesh colour is chosen to recede against the facade

Residential use beyond the balcony

In homes, bird netting is usually asked for on the rear light shaft, the terrace stair headroom, the sit-out roof or the space above a false ceiling opening. These are smaller jobs than commercial work but they follow the same logic: find the entry, close it fully, and fix to something structural.

Bird Nets in Hyderabad: common questions

Pigeon netting is a balcony-scale job with a standard mesh sized for pigeons. Bird netting covers a wider range of openings and species, often needs a support cable across the span, and the mesh aperture is chosen for the smallest bird present at the site.
