The problem it solves
In most Bangalore 2 and 3 BHK flats, the utility balcony is barely wide enough for the washing machine and a standing person. A floor-standing drying stand takes what is left, blocks the path to the tap and has to be folded away every time.
A ceiling hanger moves the whole drying load overhead. The rails come down on a pulley to loading height, go back up once loaded, and the floor stays clear.
